Ward (NO)Talent Night

I know you all know I have a hard time saying "NO" to people. Particularly people who I feel sorry for. Well this was the case with the ward activities co-ordinator. She is a lovely lady and was telling me how very few people had volunteered talents for the talent evening.

My problem of not being able to say no is overshaddowed by my problem of not being able to sing, however somehow I agreed to 'present' some sort of song on the evening. I knew it would need to be a funny song rather than a serious attempt, so after some thought, I decided to try to sing "The Mom Song" by Anita Renfroe. (As seen on You tube)

I used the kids as guinea-pigs and practiced over and over. I suppose while I was practicing I must have been moving around a bit to the music because when I asked Mitchell what he thought of the song he replied in all seriousness, "Yeah, maybe do it without the dancing!"

I managed to rope two other ladies (both propper singers) to do it with me. They were the quality and I was the quantity.

Way out of my comfort zone, but we did get a few laughs.

You're braver than I am...my response would have been a definite "No".

I wonder if you did it at the same speed? I found it hilarious but couldn't make out all the words so perhaps it would sound better sung a little more slowly.

I'm proud of you, Lies. Although I'm with Karen--there are some things that are really easy for me to say no to.
