Football's Back

Football season has started with a bang - or in our family's case- a bang, whallop, clash and smash!

This is how four of the boys (incl. Andrew) fared after the pre season trials...

Jordan needed 6 stitches after a head clash, although he was more disturbed about having half of his eyebrow shaved.

Josh and Mitchell had trouble with their left eyes too.

Andrew didn't want to be included on the injured list as his injury didn't look as tough as the kids, but he still has bruising to the left eye due to rugby, so he made the list.

In all seriousness, this is the first time we have had so many injuries at the same time. Andrew said we should just tell people we have decided not to intervene in the boys arguements and say we are letting them fight it out amongst themselves!

Turning up to church on Sunday was interesting! Our Bishop thought it was hilarious and couldn't stop laughing at our family as we sat in the pew. Considering this is only the pre-season, I am a little concerned about enduring the rest of the year. In addition to head gear and mouthguards, we are considering introducing protective goggles for our family on the field.

It's when I see stuff like this that I'm glad Ben has no interest in sports whatsoever! Great to have you blogging again. xx

Good to have you back, Liesa. Ouch! those injuries look sore - but don't detract from their handsome faces!

If I didn't know how tough your family is, I wouldn't have laughed so much. I always make fun of all the padding American football players wear, but seeing those pictures makes me grateful that my boys will be playing the wimpier version (in my opinion) of football.

Great pictures - at least Bailey knows how to protect his face.

I am laughing so hard at these pictures--it is simply hilarious that they all match up! It is especially funny that Andrew is right in there. Someone should have punched Bailey--does he feel left out?

Brooke, I think Bailey and I were quite happy to belong to the 'no black and blue club.' We got to giggle about how silly they looked!

Well, I told Alex we would try and hunt down a rugby team for him to join (thinking to myself that he could use some toughening up). Maybe we'll stick with soccer and basketball.
