That's nice, I thought. Andrew will have to take the boys to that.
Then I realised that we were the Wilson's and it was going to be in our yard.
Andrew is generous, if not a little forgetful and I didn't consider it a problem really, because being the Father, Andrew could take care of it.
Several days later Andrew announced that he would not be there as his work trip coincided with the camp.
So, on Friday night a bunch of boys and their Dads pitched tents down below. I was mildly concerned when the Bishop, (whose wife proudly proclaimed is a pyromaniac) came earlier in the day to set up a wire from the tallest tree down on an angle to the bonfire 50m below with the intentions of having a blazing fireball travel down the wire to ignite the bonfire with a combination of diesel fuel and kerosene.
To calm my nerves, Steve Krix, the ward's resident fire fighter, came by and hooked up a portable pump to our pool...just in case. Fortunately I am qualified in 'remaining calm' as my years of experience with my own brazen boys has given me adequate training.
I am happy to report that all went well. We had to leave for football at 7.15am and everyone was still there cooking breakfast on the campfire. By all accounts everyone had a good time.

Hahaha! My first thought was I hope they didn't all have to use your toilet(s) - eeewww! I would definitely not have been as relaxed about that whole fire situation as you were.
You are way to generous! I really don't think I could have watched someone light my yard on fire. You deserve mom and ward member of the year!!
Liesa, I laugh so hard when I read your posts. Then I offer a prayer of thanks for having only one son!
What - no picture of the fireball??
I laughed as I pictured your face as reality dawned ... and then when Andrew told you he'd be away ... and then when I read the other comments!
That's great! I love hearing about plans that involve me or us through someone else.
After reading Karen's comment it made me think - where did they go to the toilet?
They used the flat down the back (where Tara & Greg stayed) to go to the toilet. It was a more attractive option than 1. the house or 2. the garden. Rest assured that was my first concern addressed!
Your life gives me glimpses into my future, only in my glimpses I don't handle life as well as you.
I wonder if your house will be the ward's location of choice from now on?
I know you already told me about this but reading it just makes me laugh again. Your life is at least entertaining for the rest of us!
oh, I love that announcement! This so would happen to me--Jared never remembers to tell me anything important!
I hope we don't get to June 19th without another post!
