Reality check at 35!

Thanks to you all for your birthday wishes. I had a lovely day, despite a large part of it being spent in a car travelling from Coffs Harbour to Noosa, Queensland. Andrew arranged a cake and some nice BIG number 35 candles for me in our hotel room. He is so smug that I am a little older than him.

This is the first birthday picture taken.. probably the more acurate representation. Trying to remain composed while kids are jumping all over you... Jordan not wanting to be in the picture etc...

Andrew made us take another one.

I have come to realise that at 35 you are not young enough to have soft, beautiful skin however you are not old enough to escape breaking out. You are young enough to enjoy the outdoors with your kids, but too old to look good in a swim suit. People don't look shocked when I say I am the Mother of four (This one really hurts!)
It is a time for a reality check. I am very luck though to be healthy and happy and to have wonderful family and friends. These are the things that count.

As with all Otterson birthdays, I forgot it! Sorry about that but I hope you had a great day. You look absolutely fantastic for a 35 year old mum of 4...much younger and healthier looking than me, a 40 year old mum of just two! Belated Happy Birthday, Liesa! Karen x

What, you're 35 and you have four kids? I wouldn't put you a day past thirty. Also, what do you mean Andrew is a little younger than you? I wouldn't have guessed that. I was thinking how lucky Andrew was to have such a young beautiful wife.

Before reading your blog I looked at the pictures and thought how good you looked (like I do when I see any picture of you, lies). I love your hair, by the way. I also thought, "Wow, she's only 35!" Not because you look older, but because Brian is coming up on 33. I never really realized how close in age you guys are.
