Now the weather is starting to warm up, we are attracting a range of beautiful birds to our property. The sounds are beautiful, (with the exception of the cockatoos). This morning Andrew came into the bedroom and asked me to get some food to feed the birds that had landed on the verandah. We didn't have bird seed, but un-popped, popcorn kernells did the trick, and they stayed for ages.
I love Australian birds. The other day I was out walking early and thought, "It's so quiet. There's no beautiful birds here to greet the morning like in Australia." Just keep sending the pictures of them Lies.
We used to feed up to 40 Rainbow lorrikeets when we lived in castle hill. I just loved it!! The birds won't come down to me here because of the cats next door and I guess we destroyed there home to build our house. I even heated honey on bread which you shouldn't apparently do. Eventually they'll start landing on your hands and head and shoulders. Just wonderful. Can't wait to see them. Ill have to sleep over if they come for breakfast. ha ha! The birds are one of the things I miss the most about Australia! Lucky you.
Lies, I'm so jealous. I miss that a lot too. We do have a growing family of quails that lives in the corner of our garden...but they are brown.

That's great! I see you've got your railings up too.
